Lightwoods Primary School is located about 2 miles from Junction 2 and 3 of the M5 and is 3 miles away from the Sandwell and Dudley train station.

The school is approximately 4 miles from the centre of Birmingham

The school has a good academic record but also places great emphasis on offering as broad a curriculum as possibe with many extra curricular opportunities.

The school, has a School Council and Buddy system where pupls are involved in the life and work of the school. The school places great importance on pupils' personal, social, moral, cultural and health development.

The school is involved in a wide range of projects and activities. These include:-

Creative Partnerships, Space for Sport and Art, Commenius European project, Sandwell Triad - National Strategy project.

The school offers a wide range of extra curricular activities which include day and residential visits including visits abroad.

New Building

The new building at Lightwoods was completed in September 2004.

It is a project of Space for Sport and art

It consists of a main entrance, offices, meeting room, sports hall and changing rooms

We are very pleased with all the building offers to the school and community

There will be an official opening in the Spring 2005

League Tables

Lightwoods is a high performing school and pupils achieve well in their SATs tests ranking Lightwoods High in the Sandwell League Tables
