School Awards

Thanks to the committment and dedication of staff, pupils, parents, governors and others connected with the school, we have been presented with various awards, details of which are given below.


Healthy Schools award

The school achived the Healthy Schools Platinum award in 2006

The school developed the following activities to gain the award: Personal and Social Education, Citizenship, Physical Activity, Healthy Eating, Drugs awareness and Safety. Emotional well being.

 


The Basic Skills Agency Qulaity Mark

Basic Skills Quality Mark

The Basic Skills Quality Mark was achieved in 2000 and re assessed in 2003, 2006 and 2009

Director of Education Graham Moss awarded the Quality Mark to the school at a special assembly together with the Investor in People Award

Investor In People

Our school was awarded Investors in People in 2000 and re-awarded the Investor in People award in 2003 and 2007 which reflects a high standard of professional and personal commitment to all our staff.


International School Award

The school gained this award in 2001 and 2007 for its work in developing links with European partner schools and developing International work at Lightwoods

Lightwoods has partner schools in Germany, Italy and Romania. It has also worked with schools in France, Hungary and Bulgaria

National Training Award

The School was awarded a West Midlands National Training award in October 2002 at a special ceremony at the NIA

QES The school gained Quality in extended school mark as part of the Oldbury South Co-op in 2007

The school gained QES Established in 2009 for the Oldbury South extended schools

Active Mark - The school gained an Active MArk for its work in PE and sport in 2006, 2007 and 2009
