Weekly teaching time is 22 hours 30 minutes for Infants and 23 hours 50 minutes for Juniors.
Pre school entitlements are 12.5 hours per week but the pre school is able to offer extended warp around provision which is payable to Tiny woods on a monthly basis.
Parents must make the necessary arrangements for their children to arrive and be collected on time. Good time keeping, at this stage in a child’s development will foster good habits, which will be of benefit in later life. Children should not arrive at School more than ten minutes before the start of a session, since adequate supervision cannot be guaranteed before this time.
Playtime
Fifteen minutes break is taken each morning at 10.30 a.m for KS1 and 10.50 for KS2. and a fifteen minute afternoon break at 2.30 p.m.for KS1 pupils. At morning break all KS1 pupils are provided with a piece of fruit. KS2 pupils may either bring fruit or purchase fruit or traidcraft bars.
School Milk - Children receive free milk until their 5th birthday. All other children may have a carton of milk - providing their parents have paid for this at the beginning of every term. We allow the children to bring a water bottle to School. The children will be responsible for keeping their water bottles safe and take them home each night to be washed and re filled. Children do have acess to water coolers in school to top up their bottles
The school may also sell pure fruit juices in school especially in the summer months.
Dinner-Time
Children will have the option of going home for lunch, having a school meal or bringing sandwiches from home.
It is far better if your child gets used to a regular pattern, e.g. stays all week or goes home; this avoids confusion. We ask that if your child wishes to change that they do so at the start of a new half term only.
Meals are transported to our school each day. Should you wish your child to have a school dinner, YOU MUST SEND THE MONEY ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK.
- Your child should have the correct amount of money in an envelope marked in the following way: -
- Name of the child.
- Class Teacher’s name.
- Amount enclosed.
- Days of the week the child is stopping dinners if not a full week.
EACH CHILD MUST BE RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS/HER OWN DINNER MONEY, WHICH SHOULD BE TAKEN INTO THEIR OWN CLASS.
Free meals may be applied for in certain circumstances. Details are available from the School Office.
If you wish your child to bring a packed lunch, food should be brought in a sealed container, with liquids in a plastic flask or bottle (no fizzy or hot drinks please). Water is available for any child wishing to have it.
During the lunch period, Supervisory Assistants are responsible for the children. Children will be expected to respect the Supervisors in the same way they would teaching staff.
