Please note this is a guide of what children will be doing in school, there is no requirement for all of these tasks to be completed each day! Timings are just a guide, do what suits you and your child each day.

Handwriting Practise

Practise writing some sight words ‘on’ ‘the’ make sure your letters sit on the line, remember to make t and h tall letters.

30 minutes

Can you remember what book you read yesterday? Frog on a log here You may like to read this other story by Kes Gray Oi Dog

Today we are going to have a go at being authors, what do authors do? We are going to write our own rhyming sentences based on ‘Frog on a log’ Here are some ideas ‘The frog sat on a carrot and saw a parrot’ ‘The frog sat on a chair and got squashed by a bear’ Look how I have improved my sentence ‘The lovely little green frog sat on the magic bed and then suddenly turned red’ Have fun making up your own and have a go at writing and illustrating. We would love to see your writing.

Warm up: Play this ordering game, click here to play.

Main: Doubles

Talk about what double means, count out 2 objects and say if we double the number what do we get? Give 2 more objects and say double 2 is 4. Talk about how it is the opposite of halving which we did yesterday. Double other numbers using practical objects.

Child Initiated Time

If you like choose one of the activities below or choose your own play, we know how good you all are at playing:

  • Paint or draw your own frog
  • Colour in a frog, how many different shades of green can you use? You might like to invent your own frog, a patterned frog, rainbow frog
  • Go on a hunt for frogs outside or if not make some frogs and hide them around the house and see if your brothers and sisters/parents find them, have fun!
  • Make sure own frog with playdough
  • Can you jump like a frog, how far can you jump, how high can you jump, how long can you jump for?

Reflection Time: Who have you been kind to today? Who has been kind to you?
