Understanding of the World Explain to children that this week’s learning is our last week all about how we grow and change and how some of our favourite animals grow and change too! Watch the clip growing and changing on BBC bitesize and discuss with your child. What things can babies do, toddlers, children adults? Complete the cut and stick activity to support discussion or draw own pictures/cut pictures from magazines and stick into book we sent home. |

Maths: Recap on money. Can you show your child some of the coins you have at home (and notes too if you have them) can they recognise the value of the coins. Can you put them in order from the smallest amount to the largest amount? Try this PowerPoint How quickly can they guess the coin? Have a game of shops. Get your child to put some prices involving pennies onto items around the house. Take it in turns to play shop keepers. Have a go at the money game on Top Marks click here. There are several games and levels to choose from

Phonics Online DFE approved phonics lessons, if you want to top up phonics skills whilst you work.. Click here to access or: Mrs Allard/Mrs Whitehouse - recap on sounds from last week. Remind the children of some of the words they can be found in. Introduce the sounds: air ( as in hair) Play the dinosaur egg game on ICT games ( air sound) Click here to play Mrs Deakin-Smith/Miss Newton/Mrs Miles groups: - Watch Mrs Jones video sent on Twitter to recap all sounds. Say the words – fish shop, thumb think chop etc. Ask, what digraphs they can hear? Is it at the beginning, middle or the end of the word? Can they remember any other words with the digraphs in? English: Listen to the story of ‘Titch” click here Discuss how Titch felt at the beginning of the story and at the end. Retell the story in their own words. Choose a favourite part form the story and write a sentence using those finger spaces, capital letters and full stops. You may want to use the template provided. |
