Summer term week 4 - words ending in aw /au

English

This week we are going to be looking at a traditional Fairy Tale, The Princess and the Frog.

You can listen to the story here

Or log on to OxfordOwl to read the story here (you will need to create a free login if you haven’t already done so).

Task: We are going to re-write the story. Before we do that, we need to plan. We are going to change the characters, the item that goes into the pond, the animal that is changed into the prince and the setting.

On a piece of paper draw the following:

  • Your main character – e.g. a vet
  • The item that goes into the pond – e.g. a teddy
  • The animal that turns into the prince – e.g. a fish
  • The setting – the farm

You will need to keep this somewhere safe until tomorrow. Now tell your story to a grown up. You may also like to act it out, draw a story mountain.

We have also created an additional list for writing ideas.
