CURRICULUM Topic- RE (Where do you feel safe? What is a holy or sacred place?) Activity: Safe and special places - Draw a picture/paint/write about a special place where you feel safe. Talk about what is it about this place that makes it special and safe? Is it the place itself or things in it too? What happens there? Where is a special place for believers to go? In year 2 we have learnt about the Church (Christianity) and the Mosque (Islam). Children may also know about the Gurdwara (Sikhism). Activity: Take a look at the pictures in the document called – Special places for believers. Think about what each place might be, why it might be important to a group of people. The pictures are all of places of worship and are more than special for a group of children and adults called believers. These places would be called sacred or holy. Also in this document are a selection of pictures. Can the children match the pictures to the correct place of worship? Answers are provided on the last page.
