Year 5 Learning Timetable

Morning TEAMS meeting at 9am

This live morning meeting will be an opportunity to keep in touch with your teacher each morning. You teacher will greet you and explain the online learning and activities for the day.

 

At the end of this session you will also complete Fluent In Five and receive whole class feedback.

 

We will record the meeting so that anyone who cannot join us live, can still access the learning.

Please follow the link to today’s lesson. You can follow along and do the tasks on the video and then share your work on Seesaw either by taking a photo of your paper or typing it up:

· Monday. L.O: to practise using formal conjunctions.

· Tuesday. L.O: to write the opening paragraph of my non-chronological report.

· Wednesday. L.O: to write an appearance paragraph of the non-chronological report.

· Thursday. L.O: to edit my non-chronological report.

· Friday. (SPAG- see Seesaw for activity and PowerPoint) L.O: to recognise the past perfect form.

Spellings

Your new spelling rule is introduced on a Monday, practiced throughout the week and tested on a Friday. Make sure you are logged into Spellzone and using the links below, so that your teacher can see your efforts and track your progress.

 

Monday – Read through the presentation on Seesaw to introduce your new spelling rule

Tuesday – Look, Say, Cover, Write, Check activity on Spellzone

Wednesday – Spelling games on Spellzone

Thursday – Handwriting practice – write out your spellings 5x each. There is a template on Seesaw to use if you would like, or just use your own paper.

Friday – Spelling test on Spellzone

Please visit the links below to find and watch the video for each day’s lesson. Then, log into Seesaw and complete the worksheet to practise the skills from the lesson.

 

· Monday. L.O: to multiply mixed numbers by integers.

· Tuesday. L.O: to calculate fractions of a quantity (amount).

· Wednesday. L.O: to calculate fractions of an amount.

· Thursday. L.O: to use fractions as operations. (no video link)

· Friday. L.O: to complete fraction problem solving questions. (no video link)

Spend some time enjoying a book of your choice!

When you finish your book, don’t forget to check if there is a quiz to complete on Accelerated Reader.

 

If you haven’t got anything to read at home, log into the NEW Bug Club (click here) website and use the log ins to select and read a book from your personalised library. These log ins will have sent to you via email on Friday 29th Jan.

 

Wellbeing

Every week, we will be providing learning to help and support with wellbeing. Each activity will be the same across school so that families can take part together if they choose.
