Converting units of time

In this lesson we are starting a new unit of work on converting measurements. In this lesson we will be looking at time. We will start with a revision of time facts. As the lesson develops, we will hone our skills of converting between seconds, minutes and hours and by the end of this lesson, you will be solving time-related problems on a blank numberline whilst also converting units of time.

Ask an adult or sibling to test you on last week’s words. The words were:
yesterday, tomorrow, later, immediately, earlier, eventually, recently, previously, finally, lately

This week’s words are all adverbials of place.

The words are: nearby, everywhere, nowhere, inside, downstairs, outside, upstairs, underneath, behind, somewhere

Practice the words using the Look, Say, Cover, Write, Check technique.

Use a dictionary to look up the meaning of any words you are unsure of.

National Vegetarian Week runs from 11 - 17th May 2020 and is an annual event to educate people about the benefits of a meat-free diet.

Whether you are a meat eater or already vegetarian, challenge yourself to try a new vegetarian recipe this week. You can find out more about National Vegetarian Week and find some delicious recipes to try here. Ask an adult to help you cook one or more of the recipes during the week. I’d love to see what you make!
